Live and Give

The Belgian organisation Live and Give devotes its daily work to projects by the Saint Paul de Chartres order of nuns in Vietnam. These nuns have launched numerous charitable projects in and around Pleiku, a provincial town located in central Vietnam.



 

The ethnic minorities in this region live in small communities in poor villages. Financial support from Serax helps Live and Give, together with the nuns, to provide the care and support that these underprivileged children need. For instance, partly thanks to the contribution from Serax, 30 children from the Thien Phuc kindergarten receive a hot lunch each day and 7 children are permanently housed in the Thien An boarding house.



 

The nuns are responsible for 500 children spread across the order’s various orphanages and boarding schools. They also care for the most vulnerable in society: lepers, disabled children who have been abandoned, the poorest pregnant women who have become outcasts.

 

 

Live and Give was founded by Jan Peeters and Oanh Thi Le. They provide financial support for various projects, including the development of a infirmary with medical assistance near the Thien An boarding school and the donation of 25 wheelchairs for disabled people, including 5 children.

 

 

Thanks to Live and Give, many other projects are also currently underway, such as the building of a bakery in Pleiku, the purchase of computers for a school in the poor district of Dong Nai, and the establishment of a local dentist in the Thien An boarding school.
