delphine boël

Delphine Boël obtained her Bachelor in Fine Arts at the Chelsea School of Art and Design in London. Even though she spent most of her life in the United Kingdom, she now lives and works in Brussels.

Over the years, she has built up a strong reputation on the European art scene, for being a non-conformist statement artist who conveys a clear message. She creates multimedia art works that address universal themes, overflowing with colour, texture and humour. From paintings to neon and from plates to sculptures, her art is always vibrant, playful and quirky. She describes her work as ‘an allergic reaction to the power of gossip, rumours, and blabla small talk in general’. Delphine’s explicit use of words and language make her messages very straightforward, while her use of colour and composition leaves room for whimsy and irony.

Her art has been, and still is, shown at numerous permanent and temporary exhibitions, in countries all over the world, such as the US, South Korea, the UK, France, Luxembourg, Sweden and Morocco. She also exhibited at the Venice Biennale for ABSOLUT in 2003.
