OKU wants to inspire with architecture and design that feels both cosmopolitan and down-to-earth. To envelop their guests in soft beauty, full of character and comfort, and surprise with details that may be tiny, but are so thoughtful that guests feel right at home. We are proud that OKU Hotels selected the Surface tableware by Sergio Herman for their restaurant.
Each of the hotels is a passion project; they fit seamlessly together, but are never the same. Whether framed by a mountain or the sea, they find inspiration in the surrounding landscapes as much as the local culture.
OKU's unique approach to space – a balance between private and shared – means you’re free to choose what suits a moment’s mood. From the Greek isles to Spain, and other new destinations, you’ll always sense OKU's warm and welcoming culture. Deeply inspired by the Greek idea of “parea” – the celebration of people coming together and sharing good times – it’s at the heart of everything they do.
"The Surface collection is a very personal project for me", says world-class Chef Sergio Herman. "One that comes from a long-standing desire to create and surprise. It was inspired by the raw nature of Zeeland. Its rough textures and beautiful imperfections expose what is real and what is true… From the deep grey of the mystic North Sea to a scarred and ageing skin, every surface is a symbol of depth. Every surface tells a story. Which is why I was excited to be given the opportunity to tell my own story and to translate my professional experience into this very personal range of tableware."
