During the preparations of Sergio Herman's restaurant 'The Jane' in Antwerp, the Dutch Michelin-starred chef became friends with Frank and Axel from Serax. In no time, the idea arose to bundle together several decades of experience in the hospitality and design industries and to join forces to market a line of tableware. But what started with an idea for new plates soon resulted in the distinctive Surface for Serax collection.

With the extensive stoneware line, inspired by the unspoilt Nature of Zeeland, with its rough textures and beautiful imperfections, all the ingredients for 'dining in style' are in place. Cups, saucers, plates, and dishes in various shapes and sizes, contemporary cutlery with a stonewash finish, and special glasses that are designed inside-out - the outside is completely smooth, and the profile is on the inside. The Surface for Serax collection by Sergio Herman guarantees a natural appearance, a sublime look and - how could it be any other way? - a large dose of personality!

However, a premium product relies on more than just its appearance. Quality is always central in everything that comes out of Sergio's kitchen, and in everything that is produced by Serax. For example, the Canadian maple wood of the Surface cutting boards not only becomes more beautiful as it ages, its unique antibacterial and self-healing properties also prevent contamination. The handmade matching kitchen knives are devised from the strongest Swedish steel with handles in the same quality maple wood as the cutting boards. Indestructible and timeless.

Sergio Herman's passion knows no bounds, that much is clear.
