I've always had a soft spot for rugs
Bea Mombaers: "I've been playing with the idea of bringing out my own rug collection for quite some time. I've always had a soft spot for rugs; they're essential in every interior. Think of removing the rug from under the seat, and the seating area suddenly feels much colder. Or conversely, step out of bed with a rug under your feet and the day starts much more pleasantly. A rug creates a subtle atmosphere which dresses up the room and at the same time, brings warmth and homeliness. That's why I deliberately chose for high-quality, sustainable materials that become more beautiful with time.

The Rugs by Bea collection is a logical addition to the existing Bea for Serax interior range and unmistakably bears the stamp of the interior stylist, Bea Mombaers. Sophisticated minimalism with a bohemian vibe in a balanced colour palette. Her continuous pursuit of perfect imperfection translates into a collection of handwoven rugs inspired by the Oriental kelim: a flat, wool rug originally woven by nomads. For this, they developed compact portable looms that they could easily set up in their tents. Bea's rugs are produced following the same principles, with the same looms and techniques. Each piece is handwoven by local craftspersons at home and therefore does not come from a workshop or factory. That makes every rug a unique piece.

Rugs by Bea doesn’t compromise on sustainability. All rugs are 100% organic and are made from hand-spun sheep's wool and ecologically dyed with vegetable dyes from the area. The rugs are available in seven different designs, with a choice of five neutral shades with subtle shades of colour and Bea's signature pink and green colours. Each rug is finished with the greatest care and packaged in a beautiful fabric storage bag. It’s all in the details. Choose from two different sizes: 2 m x 3 m and 2.5 m x 3.5 m.
