With a vision that results from an unbridled curiosity, Vincent Van Duysen always creates an all-inclusive atmosphere in which he seamlessly interweaves architecture, interior design, and design objects. A vision to which he also stayed true when he was commissioned to convert the monastery of the former military hospital in Antwerp into a hotel. For the terrace he designed the August collection, a series of minimalist chairs that effortlessly link the history of the environment to a modern interpretation. August by Vincent Van Duysen for Serax is made of powder coated aluminium, available in muted shades. This makes it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The chairs, lounge chairs, sun loungers, tables and stools articulate the sheer simplicity of the monastic life they were inspired by. The wider, slightly lower proportions of the lounge chairs are of this day and age and contribute to modern-day comfort.
