Isabelle Dieltiens is living proof that you do not always need an extensive art education to create beautiful designs. She started her professional life as a first-level nurse. But when she lived in Istanbul with her family for three years in the late 1990s, she fell under the spell of the artisans working in the city centre. Goldsmiths and silversmiths, jewellery designers, and carpet weavers with a modest income who still enjoyed their craft and were clearly proud of what they made. The passion they expressed for their craftsmanship inspired Isabelle to start creating with her hands too. Isabelle: “Travelling is of crucial importance for me to view the essence of life from a different perspective. A combination of impressions and encounters inspires me, and it comes to life in my creations.” Bursting with verve and passion, Isabelle focuses her creativity mainly on ceramics and porcelain objects with a timeless appearance. Nature, her first collection of plates and bowls, was introduced to the market in collaboration with Serax. Currently, she is taking a year-long sabbatical to devote herself, among other things, to an extension or continuation of the Nature collection. We very much look forward to that!
